Interview Tips for Hairstylists Seeking a Salon Job
Interviews are often nerve-wracking experiences for hairstylists hoping to land their dream job in a fabulous salon. Most worry about sounding and looking professional, as well what to bring and how to act during the interview. If this sounds like you, don’t worry. Simply follow these tips and you’re sure to land your dream salon job in no time at all!
Dress in business casual attire and make sure your hair and make-up look great, but not over done. Smile often and look your interviewer in the eye.
Bring a fresh copy of your resume, beauty school certificate, and beauty license. Also be prepared to show your driver’s license if asked. It’s also a good idea to have a reference sheet with at least three professional, or personal, contacts.
If you have a photo book of hairstyle pictures you’ve taken, bring it with you. Seeing the kind of work you are capable of will give the salon manager a better sense of your individual style.
Take your time speaking, don’t fidget, and sit up straight- just like your mother always told you to!
